As a means of giving my wrist a little workout without doing something that requires too much strength or puts too much pressure on my wrist I've been working on a new knitting project since Monday!
This is the Age of Brass and Steam Kerchief which is a free pattern that I found on Ravelry. I'm using Madelinetosh Tosh DK in Kale and can not wait for it to be finished! Of course I won't be wearing it now with the weather so warm but I am so looking forward to wearing it in the Fall - Fall is my favourite by the way! The knitting is going much slower than usual with my bum wrist (and let me tell you I am not a fast knitter to begin with) and the purling might just be the death of me, but the pattern is really great and I know that I will wear this all the time once I get the chance! Rav'd here!
So as a means of smoothing over any waves that I might have created by not sharing a finished project - although I know you all forgive me - I thought I'd host a little giveaway! Not that I really need an excuse to host a giveaway!
This is Jessica Levitt's new collection Kingdom which was just released on August 1st! Windham Fabrics sent me this lovely little stack of fabric late last week and I decided to share it with you! In the interest of full disclosure I want to say that yes, Windham did send me this fabric, however they did not ask me to give any of it away on my blog - I came up with that part myself!
I will pick a few of the cuts to send to one lucky winner... here's what you need to do to enter:
1. Leave a comment telling me what you would make with this fabric
(and if you'd like - tell me which of the colours you like best too)!
2. Leave another comment if you are a follower of my blog or if you become one!
3. Leave another comment if you "Like" Miss Print on Facebook!
There ya go that's three chances to enter - you do not need to do all of the above but please make sure to leave a separate comment for each entry that you do! Please also remember that all comments are moderated so if your comment does not appear right away it just means that I haven't approved it yet! I will leave the giveaway open until next Wednesday (August 10th).
Alright get entering and wish me luck with my wrist and getting back into the sewing mode! Hopefully I'll be better able to show you some finished projects very soon!

ReplyDeleteI love those purples especially!
ReplyDeleteI'm making a charm bracelet quilt in purples for my daughter and these fabrics would be perfect!
I love those fresh bright colors! I think the brightness would be perfect fo a baby quilt
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog-hope your wrist is better soon!
ReplyDeleteI love these prints! I would make a bunch of fun bags!
ReplyDeleteI'm already a follower :-)
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful! I think a baby quilt or picnic blanket!
ReplyDeleteI "like" Miss Print on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteliked you on FB
ReplyDeleteI have been a follower of your blog for quite a while.
ReplyDeleteMy almost sixteen month old granddaughter's favorite color is purple, so the first thing I would make is a new dress for her!
ReplyDeleteI'm a quilter rather than a garment sewer so I'd definitely use it in a quilt. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI love all the purples. Oh, yes I'm one of your followers.
ReplyDeleteOuch! Hope your arm isn't too badly hurt! I "liked" you on FB
ReplyDeleteI am a follower and though i do not comment often I enjoy seeing what you have made and reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteI would make a colorful patchwork quilt !
ReplyDeleteAll the fabrics are beautiful- but I espeially like the pink crown fabric!
And I'm a follower here
ReplyDeleteOh I just really love the bright colors! So very eye catching. I am sure these would be in either couch pillows or a table runner for my coffee table , I have this huge coffee table which is actually an antique dining table top turned into a coffee table and these colors would really set the wood off nicely.
ReplyDeleteI like the teal and green colors. I'd definitely put them into a cute little boy quilt, maybe a baby quilt
ReplyDeleteI am a follower
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty fabric. I really like the blue line. Take care.
ReplyDeleteOh no, your poor wrist! I hope the rest of the recovery process is smooth and swift.
ReplyDeleteI just got an ereader (due to wrist problems of my own, heh—it's hard on a sore wrist to hold a hardcover book!), and have been working on cute sleeves for it that match my various purses. I suspect that this fabric would turn into a patchwork handbag like this one I made and a coordinating kobo sleeve or several.
I think this would make an adorable wall hanging for my new purple sewing room :) I would go with the purples and the greens :)
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog.
ReplyDeleteOuch, Kaye! That sounds awful! Hope you're sewing again soon.
ReplyDeleteI really like the blues/purples in this line. If I'm the lucky winner, they'd make their way into a quilt for sure!
Oh this is gorgeous fabric. I'd love to add some of this fabrics to one of my quilts. I love the purples and the aqua's. Thanks for the chance to win.

ReplyDeleteGood luck getting to sew. I hope it doesn't hurt to do it. I love the beautiful combination of colors in that bundle. They would make a lovely quilt. Thanks for the opportunity to win!=)

Oh ouch about the arm and hand. I know all too well about attempting to do anything without one of your hands. It's horribly frustrating. I had two different hand surgeries last year on both of my hands; yes four surgeries total. I did the left hand and then six months later the right. I am still having problems with a huge lack of strength in both and loss of the capability to use with any strength or pinching capability very much. I sure hope you heal quickly and won't need to deal with anything more than to just rest and let it heal. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win that fabric. I have been loving purple and lime green together lately so that would be my first choice. What I would make I honestly am not going to lie and say something because I am not sure right this second. I think it would be either part of a quilt or maybe a purse but don't hold me to that.
I have been following your blog for a very long time but until just now never actually clicked the google friend connect button to 'follow' your blog but have now.
ReplyDeleteI already 'liked' you on FB awhile back as well.
ReplyDeleteGet better.
I'd love to make a quilt for my sister. I love all the colors!
ReplyDeleteWow! Sorry to hear about your arm. I sure do hope you are back in commission again real soon.

Now for my next comment: I am also a follower! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the purple and green fabrics -- and I'd probably make something adorable for my 3-year old granddaughter - she'd love it!!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling much better soon and get to sew some more!!

ReplyDeleteOooh! I saw these this morning on Sew, Mama, Sew! Love them! My girls are so into princesses they would love purple crowns. I love the three on top of that stack and the white on the top of the other! They're all great actually. I have all the ideas about how to embellish the hems of simple skirts with contrasting fabrics but I haven't quite worked it all out yet. I also want to try adding patch pockets to some simple plain jumpers.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite print of them is Posy in Opal. I love the delicate icy shades and the art nouveau styling.

ReplyDeleteOwie, your poor wrist! Hope it feels much better soon, and that you got good drugs to take the pain away! Actually, I always say that, and yet I have hypermobility syndrome, am frequently injured, and am allergic to all but paracetemol, which does nothing, damnit, so I have no idea what the good drugs feel like lol So I wish for the good drugs for everyone else that's more normal... ;o)
ReplyDeleteAnywho, I would make some bags with these I think. I'm sewing my way through Amy Butler's bags at the moment, and I think I need some new fabrics :o) I like the blues, greens and purples (so, uh, pretty much all of it lol)
I am already a follower
ReplyDeleteAnd I like you on FB :o)
ReplyDeleteI would make a quilt or a bag with this if I won.
ReplyDeleteI need to make some baby bibs. I like the teal, pink, and purple fabrics!
ReplyDeleteAnd people think that working in a library must be such a nice genteel type of job. Oh yes, and you get to read a lot! NOT! Some days it can be a workout - those loaded bookcarts, rearranging stacks, weeding, moving 20 years of bound journals to make space, cutting yourself making up the folding boxes for journals, straightening a shelf of books and having the bookend give way resulting in a pile of books sliding onto your head etc etc. Oh yes, a nice quiet job indeed.
ReplyDeleteI like the really graphic blue and grey print with all of the lines - I think its called something to do with castle or building. I'm really liking this whole colourway - I think it would make a great double jack wall hanging - a favourite pattern I stumbled upon one morning of blog following.
ReplyDeletehttp://lilysquilts.blogspot.com/2011/05/double-fat-jack-tutorial.html
Thanks for the giveaway. Very generous.

ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better! I twisted my right ankle/knee playing softball on Thursday and was worried that using my sewing machine pedal would be a problem, but luckily not (especially since I'd taken Friday off work to quilt!). The knitting is a fantastic substitute - great color/pattern!
ReplyDeleteI love this line - may have to buy a bundle with all of them, but I'm especially partial to the lights and the turquoise/purple. I'm not sure of the design yet, but I definitely want to make a quilt out of it!
Thanks, and take it easy!
